Hair loss treatment FAQs

Q: What is Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis or HTMA?

A: As explained in the other pages of the website, the most important step in the treatment of hair loss is the diagnosis of its cause. Beside blood test, HTMA is a method we use to diagnose the cause of hair loss. It gives us comprehensive information about the causes of hair loss including the level of minerals and toxic metals, the status of protein synthesis, body metabolism, etc. After analyzing the result of the blood test, the HTMA and the content of the treatment form filled out by the patient, we can draw up a detailed treatment plan for the applicant. This treatment plan includes proper nutritional supplements for regulating the level of minerals and vitamins in the body, proper choice of hair growth stimulant solutions, medical herbs to help regulate body metabolism and hormone levels, etc. This procedure will not only cure hair loss and initiate hair regrowth, but it also regulates body metabolism, boots the energy level and improves health. Q: Dear doctor, I’ve done all related blood tests related to hair loss and the result has been normal, but I’m still losing hair. What could be the cause?

A: There are a number of causes such as problems related to the thyroid or adrenal glands, high level of DHT hormone, mineral imbalances, etc. that play a very important role in your hair loss. In fact, at times hair loss is an indicator of a metabolic problem in the body, which is why some people whose blood tests show everything to be normal still experience hair loss. In such situations, the doctors would tell their patients that their hair loss is hereditary and not curable! But I believe this is not the case in most patients and the cause is not always hereditary.

So what is the cause? To drive the point home, I’d like to explain the case of hypothyroidism. This illness is not caused overnight. Instead, it is in fact caused gradually over a period of time. The problem of hypothyroidism is initially triggered by a fluctuation in the production of related hormones, and only when the body is stressed out, the thyroid gland becomes unable to secrete the required hormones at the required quantities. As a result, the hormones produced by this gland degrade in quality, which in turn, would decrease their effect on body cells and metabolism. This problem may last months or even years and it ultimately gets to a point where the thyroid gland cannot produce enough T3, T4 or THS anymore. At this point, it is said in the medical practice that the person is facing hypothyroidism. It is only at this point that the blood test indicates the onset of hypothyroidism. In other words, I am going to say that an individual might have hypothyroidism years before the test indicates this condition. It is just like a decrepit cellphone battery which gradually shrinks in its duration of staying charged until it is finally unable to stay running for even one straight hour and the cellphone keeps running out of juice on and on. This allegory is true for adrenal glands and some other causes of hair loss. For more information, read the article on Thyroid Problems.

For this reason, along with blood test we make use of hair analysis. By analyzing the levels of 4 electrolytes, namely calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium and their ratios towards one another, one can find out about thyroid and adrenal glands even in their preliminary stages of development. This greatly helps us in choosing the type of treatment. I need to mention here that I disagree with prescribing substitute hormones for a 100% treatment of hair loss; instead, I believe that regulating minerals in the body would help treat gland and metabolic problems of the body without using any substitute hormones.

Q: Dear Doctor, from the start of the treatment, how long does it take to stop losing hair?

A: In most people, within 1 to 2 months after the start of treatment, their hair loss stops. There are rare cases with individuals suffering from severe adrenal fatigue, acute thyroid problems and/or excessive mineral imbalance, who will have to wait longer.

Q: How about the regrowth of lost hair?

A: Regrowth of lost hair depends on a number of factors, most important of which is the lapse of time between the start of hair loss and the start of treatment. If this period is short, the regrowth of lost hair happens completely within the very first months of treatment. But if this interval is too long, the trend of regrowth would be like this: in the first few months, very thin, delicate and fluffy hair will grow in different parts of the head. In time, within 1 year, they will turn to complete and thick hair. On average, patients will have to wait for at least six months to witness a noticeable change in the volume and density of their hair.

Q: Is it possible that for some, their hair isn't regrown and on average, which percentages of people who have taken this treatment have gained desirable results?

A: Yes, there are some factors that minimize the chance of hair regrowth. These factors include lapse of a long while after the start of hair loss (over 7 years), being over 50 years of age, leaving treatment period uncompleted, etc. Also for some clients whose hair roots have burnt away as a result of prolonged chemotherapy or high dosages of such drugs, the regrowth of hair occurs with difficulty or it does not happen at all.

According to statistics, hair loss has stopped completely in over %95 of our clients. And as for the regrowth of hair, more than %80 of our clients have gained successful results.

Q: How much of the lost hair can grow back?

A: Usually, the hair follicles that have been lost maximum within the last four years can grow back for most people. For some, after the completion of the treatment period, even those hair follicles lost before the four-year period can grow back, but not for everyone. Please remember that the regrowth of hair is a time-taking process requiring patience and hope.

Q: Is your treatment method only for men?

A: It is for both men and women. Hair loss treatment and hair regrowth happens at a much faster pace for women than for men. And nearly all women under our treatment have gained favorable results.

Q: Dear doctor, would you please explain about the therapy and about which products and supplements you prescribe?

A: To treat hair loss, we hardly ever use medical drugs such as Propecia or substitute hormones. This is because chemical drugs all have side effects and they make you dependent for life and as soon as you stop using them, your hair starts to thin out again. An important part of the treatment is regulating the mineral and vitamin levels in the body based on a hair mineral analysis and blood test, which is done by prescribing nutritional supplements, at times paired with diets. To decrease the level of excess elements and/or toxic metals, Natural Chelators such as sulfur compounded amino acids like NAC, L-Methionine, L-Taurine, etc. are prescribed. Sometimes, to facilitate the regulation of metabolism and hormone levels, medical herbs such as Black Cocosh, Gingko Biloba, Licorice, Ginseng, etc. are put to use. For cases in which hair is lost due to DHT hormone overload, DHT natural blockers such as caffeinated shampoos, and/or herbs such as Saw Palmetto, etc. are utilized. Our prescribed hair regrowth stimulant solutions usually contain Minoxidil 2% and 5%, Yves Rocher Serum Anti-Chute, Revivogen, Alpecin liquid, ect (of course just for a while until regrowth has taken place). Note well that prescribing any of these products, even those that are derived from herbal sources, is dependent on hair analysis and medical consultation for a better review of body's condition.

Q: Does the treatment procedure have a lifelong period; in other words, does it have to continue even after the regrowth of hair?

A: No, it doesn't. The treatment procedure has to go on until the full regrowth of lost hair. This process usually takes 12 to 18 months. After that, for keeping and preserving the regrown hair, you will need to repeat the procedure for 2 to 3 months each year.

Q: Do the supplements that you prescribe for hair loss treatment have side effects?

A: No, they don't. Since the supplements are prescribed exactly according to your HTMA and your blood test results, in other word, according to your body's deficiencies and needs, they are not only free from any side effects, but they also regulate metabolism, boost energy level and improve health.

Q: Would you please explain a little about finasteride tablets and minoxidil solution and their applications?

A: Finasteride tablets, also called Propecia, are prescribed when the hair loss is caused by a high level of dihydrotestosterone(DHT) hormone. But to decrease the harmful effects of DHT hormone on hair roots, there are other treatments as well, for instance, using solutions that contain caffeine and saw palmetto such as products by Alpecin, Revivogen, etc. Some doctors even recommend their patients to take food supplements that contain saw palmetto. I personally do not intend to prescribe or recommend the use of finasteride, due to its short-term and, at times, permanent side effects. It is seriously recommended not to take finasteride tablets without consulting a GP first.

One of the mechanisms of minoxidil solution is to increase blood circulation in hair roots, which in turn decreases hair loss and stimulates the regrowth of lost hair. Minoxidil is approved by FDA and we sometimes prescribe this solution in our treatment procedures. Need it be mentioned that the application of minoxidil, by itself, does not treat hair loss. For example, if the hair loss is caused by mineral imbalance in the body and the cause is not balanced, the application of minoxidil either has no effect or even if it effective, the patients will begin to lose hair again as soon as they stop applying it.

Q: Is it true that minoxidil users will have to continue using it and once they stop the application, their hair loss gets even worse than before?

A: In case the cause or causes of hair loss, such as mineral imbalance, thyroid or adrenal malfunction, etc. is not treated, and the person simply uses minoxidil to stop losing the remaining hair, hair loss will definitely start again with the halting of minoxidil application. But for those who have had the true causes of their hair loss diagnosed, and who follow comprehensive treatment programs, stopping the use of minoxidil after the completion of their treatment procedure will not lead into the comeback of hair loss.

Q: I have tried many hair loss treatment methods such as PRP, mesotherapy, etc. but no result. Why is that?

A: Without diagnosing the cause or causes of hair loss, determining the body's mineral levels and metabolism status,to undergo general treatments such as PRP or mesotherapy are usually of no avail. For example, the cause of hair loss in many patients is the excess of certain minerals in their bodies, which means if they take vitamins and minerals without any special plan, either as tablets or via injection, it may further aggravate the case of excess minerals in their body, which is by itself a cause of hair loss. First, the mineral level of the body has to be determined and then based on which elements are lacking or excessive in the body, different supplements are prescribed to be taken orally or to be injected. In another example, if your hair loss is caused by thyroid or adrenal glands problems, doing PRP is definitely of no use and it is essentially not needed at all. As we have explained many times in different parts of our website, the first step in hair loss treatment is diagnosing the cause of hair loss. A true diagnosis will definitely save your time and money and further increase the chances of gaining desired results. Therefore, you are strongly recommended to refrain from starting any form of treatment based on your or others' guesswork or unspecialized suggestions.

Q: Can I start the treatment procedure with you during my pregnancy or breastfeeding?

A: We can draw up a proper food and supplement plan according to the needs of your body during pregnancy or breastfeeding. This plan will decrease your hair loss, and improve your health leading to a better nourishment of your fetus or infant. But most solutions are not to be used during pregnancy and in the first 6 months of breastfeeding. So you will have to come back to us to complete the treatment period after your first six months.

Q: I'm presently taking some supplements and applying an anti-hair loss solution. Will they leave a negative effect on the HTMA result? Should I stop using them for a while and then have the HTMA test?

A: Not really. The intake of food supplements don't negatively affect the HTMA test, but it would probably be a good idea to stop using your solution one week prior to sending your hair samples or your visit.

Q: Dear doctor, according to your explanations, a major cause of hair loss both in men and women is mineral imbalances. Why is this problem so common?

A: There are many factors to take into consideration, such as:

Diet - Improper diet through high intake of refined and processed foods, alcohol and fad diets can all lead to a chemical imbalance. Even the nutrient content of a "healthy" diet can be inadequate, depending upon the soil in which the food was grown or the method in which it was prepared.

Stress - Physical or emotional stress can deplete the body of many nutrients while also reducing the capability to absorb and utilize many nutrients.

Medications - Both prescription and over-the-counter medications can deplete the body stores of nutrient minerals and/or increase the levels of toxic metals. These medications include diuretics, antacids, aspirin and oral contraceptives.

Pollution - From adolescence through adulthood the average person is continually exposed to a variety of toxic metal sources such as cigarette smoke (cadmium), hair dyes (lead), hydrogenated oils (nickel), Antiperspirants (aluminum), dental amalgams (mercury and cadmium), copper and aluminum cookware and lead-based cosmetics. These are just a few of the hundreds of sources which can contribute to nutrient imbalances and adverse metabolic effects.

Nutritional Supplements - Taking incorrect supplements or improper amounts of supplements can produce many vitamin and mineral excesses and/or deficiencies, contributing to an overall biochemical imbalance.

Inherited Patterns - A predisposition toward certain mineral imbalances, deficiencies and excesses can be inherited from parents.

The point to be noticed here is that aging is not a cause of hair loss all by itself. What happens in aging is disturbed mineral balance, increase of toxic metals in the body due to the mentioned reasons all of which could hasten hair loss and slow body's capability in the regrowth of lost hair.

I had lost almost all my hair and I was considering hair transplant. But before that I decided to try Dr. Nasirzaeh's therapeutic method, which, in my opinion, was both logical and economical. It took about a year and a few months for my hair to completely grow back. I'm now very happy that I have my own natural hair.

I started to go bald after my military service. I did everything I could to stop it. I even went to hair implant institutes, but got cold feet cuz it was damn too expensive and there was uncertainty about the consequences. A few months before my marriage, one of my fiancée's acquaintances introduced Hair Awakening Center to me and I started to get treatment from this center. Man, the result was amazing. At the wedding night, all friends and relatives were astonished by the view of my dense lush hair.

It was about a year that I kept buying various anti-hair loss solutions or hair growth tonics from the drugstore round the corner of my workplace. I paid through my nose for some of them and each time the drugstore salesman suggested something newer and way more expensive. But they were of no use. I was gradually getting convinced that there is no escape from baldness when I happened to find Dr Nasirzadeh on the internet. I began treatment under the supervision of his clinic. Now it's been only 6 months since I started treatment, but I feel much younger with lots of my hair grown back in place.

I was aboard a plane in one of my trips talking to the passenger sitting next to me when our talk drifted away to hair loss and getting bald. The gentleman having good lush hair told me he had been suffering from hair loss but that after his treatment with the Hair Awakening Clinic, he had not only stopped losing hair, but had all his hair back within less than a year. My curiosity made me take the address and visit this Clinic as soon as I could. It had hardly taken me 5 months than my hair returned to normal condition and there was no sign of hair loss whatsoever.

One day I was at the barber's to trim round my head. My barber said he had a client who had found a hair repair center and had found the treatment greatly rewarding. "They're all useless. Been there, done that," said I in reply. "But this client of mine, his hair is all back," said the barber with certitude. I got the address unwillingly and a bit later went to the center. Now I've been living up to the center's instructions and the result has been satisfying so far.
