Hair Loss Treatment FAQ

Q: How can I start treatment with you?

A: You can start online treatment with me from any country you are in, without having to come to us in person. For more information, please visit the start treatment page.

Q: How do you determine the causes of hair loss?

A: The most important step in treating hair loss is identifying its causes by examining the status of glands, metabolism and the levels of hormones, vitamins and minerals by a blood test. But in interpreting blood tests, it is not enough to simply check whether the numbers are in the normal range, but rather to check the ratio of hormones, minerals, enzymes and more. For example, total Cholesterol, bad Cholesterol (LDL) and good Cholesterol (HDL) levels may be normal, but the ratio of good to bad Cholesterol may not be proportional, which can cause skin cellulitis, oily skin, acne and in some cases hair loss; or Testosterone and Dihydrotestosterone hormones may be normal, but their disproportional ratio means that Testosterone is excessively converting to its bad form (DHT), which can cause male pattern baldness and prostate problems. Another example, when Cortisol level is high or not proportional to Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), it indicates that the person is under psychological or physical (metabolic) stress and this can cause problems such as insomnia, anxiety, fatigue and hair loss. This holds true for all hormones, minerals, and most enzymes, and your physician must have the knowledge and experience to evaluate them. In addition to the tests, the patients’ explanations in the consultation form and the photos they send of their hair condition, help to identify the causes of hair loss. For instance, if the hair falls like the letter M (from the temple) it is a sign of male pattern baldness. If it is a general and uniform hair loss, it usually has a metabolic root. If there is more hair loss in top of the head (crown), hormonal disorders can be the cause. Age and gender are also important factors. In other words, a set of information, including blood test results, consultation form and the images you send, are used to diagnose and set a treatment program.

Q: How long after starting the treatment, my hair loss will reduce?

A: For most people, hair loss usually reduces within 1 to 3 months. Rarely this may take longer due to reasons such as severe adrenal fatigue, thyroid problems or mineral imbalances in the body.

Q: How about hair regrowth? How long will it take?

A: Hair regrowth depends on several things, such as the cause of hair loss, age and the time between the beginning of hair loss and starting the treatment; the shorter this interval, the faster the hair grows. Most people generally see hair growth from the sixth month onwards, which results in maximal growth by the end of the one-year treatment. In the meantime, many people are seeing growth in the first few weeks and get faster results.

Important Note: If hair follicles remain alive after shedding, hair will regrow during the treatment, but if they had died, there will be no regrowth, and in this case, no medicine, lotion or method will work. In some people, the hair roots die shortly after shedding, but in others, they may stay alive for years. Unfortunately, there is no way to determine if hair roots are still alive, so the rate of hair regrowth cannot be predicted!

Q: Is it possible that some people won't experience hair regrowth? On average, what percentage of treated people receive the desired result?

A: Definitely yes, some people do not get a result. Reasons such as the late start of treatment after hair loss begins, age above 50 and serious diseases will reduce the chances of hair regrowth.

About 95% of patients reported that their hair loss was significantly reduced after the treatment, and about 80% of them observed hair regrowth. I get a lot of messages asking if there is a guarantee that our hair will grow again. As mentioned, hair regrowth depends on many factors, such as genetics, age, cause of hair loss and starting the treatment at the right time. That's why the results are different for each person. Honestly, the statistics are as good as 80% and about 20% of the clients didn't see a significant change for the reasons mentioned above. It can never be said that 100% of the cases get the same result. Please be realistic about your chances of getting a result and consider this before starting the treatment.

Q: What percentage of the fallen hair can grow back during the treatment?

A: Usually, hair that has been fallen for up to 4 years can grow back easily. In some people, the hair that has fallen for longer than that period also grows back again, and in some people, it will not. Please remember that the hair growth  is time consuming process and requires patience.

Q: Is your treatment only for men?

A: No. It is both for men and women. Actually, it is easier to treat hair loss in women than in men, and most of our female clients have achieved excellent results in hair regrowth because the hereditary factor is less common in women.

Q: How long is the treatment course?

A: In most cases, the duration of treatment is one year. Programs are set for three months, and at the end of the 3rd month, if the patient is satisfied, he/she can apply for the next 3-month program. It is worth noting that blood tests are only needed at the start of the treatment and do not need to be repeated for the next programs. It is also recommended that there should be no gap between courses to achieve the best possible result.

Q: Is it possible that my hair falls again after a year of treatment?

A: At the end of the one-year treatment, some of the blood tests need to be repeated to make sure that the causes of hair loss are completely cured. In some cases, there might be a necessity to continue the treatment for a few more months. Generally, after the end of the one-year course, it is recommended that patients take a 3-month program to strengthen their hair once a year to prevent hair loss and enhance the health and beauty of their hair and skin.

It is important to take care of hair the same as other body tissues such as skin. This is true even for those who have done hair transplants and need to nourish their hair to prevent hair loss in the future.

These are my pictures before, and three months after the treatment, lots of tiny hair is growing in the center of my head. I’m happy with the result until now, and I will continue my therapy with doctor Nasirzadeh to get complete result.

Q: Where can I get the recommended supplements and solutions?

A: In many countries such as the US, Canada, UK, UAE and many other countries, products are available at most pharmacies and supplement stores. You can also find them on websites like iherb.com, vitacost.com, swansonvitamins.com or even amazon.com that ship worldwide. If you are going to start treatment with us, please first make sure that the sites listed above, will send their products to your country so that you do not have trouble keeping up with the program.

Q: Please tell us about the solutions and supplements you usually recommend in your programs.

A: For hair loss treatment, I rarely recommend drugs that alter the hormonal system, such as Finasteride, unless blood test shows that DHT level is too high and these drugs are needed and necessary for health. An important part of our treatment is to keep the balance of minerals and vitamins in the body based on blood test results via supplements and sometimes eating plan. Natural Chelators such as Sulfur Compounded Amino Acids like L-Methionine, NAC, Taurine, etc. are also advised to reduce the level of excessive elements or toxic metals. Sometimes we use medicinal herbs to regulate metabolism and hormones, such as Ginseng, Licorice, Kelp, Evening Primrose, Gingko Biloba, Black Cohosh, Saw Palmetto, etc. Recommended hair growth stimulants usually are 2% and 5% Minoxidil, Alpecin, Phyto, Eucerin, L’Oréal, Erikeh, Vichy products and other solutions which are advised depending on the cause of hair loss, the density of hair and gender.

Q: How many supplements and solutions are advised in the program?

A: Depending on the result of tests, gender, age, causes of hair loss and density of hair, the program and number of supplements may vary for each person, but on average, for a three months course, 1 to 2 types of solutions, one shampoo and 3 to 4 types of supplements are recommended.

Testimonials User PhotoMr. M S, Aged 35After 6 Months

As you can see in my photo, I lost almost all my hair. After 6 months with Dr. Nasirzadeh's program, a lot of thin hair is growing on my head. I am very happy and hope that more hair will grow as I continue my treatment. Thanks to Dr. Nasirzadeh

Q: Do the advised supplements have any side effects?

A: Since the supplements are recommended exactly based on blood tests and body’s imbalances, not only they have no side effects, but also, they regulate metabolism, increase energy and enhance overall health.

Q: How much is the cost of consulting and setting a treatment program?

A: The cost of consulting and getting a treatment program for a 3-month period is 95 USD.

Q: I have done a hair transplant, will your program be helpful for me?

A: Yes, the program will be helpful for you too. When the causes of hair loss are treated, and the hormones, minerals and vitamins become balanced, the chances of losing transplanted hair in the future will be reduced. It also helps the transplanted follicles to grow faster.

Q: Is hereditary hair loss treatable?

A: Important note: Just because your father or uncles have thin hair or because you have used different anti-hair loss products and you’re still facing thinning hair; it doesn’t necessarily mean that your problem is hereditary. For example, your father may had hair loss at a young age due to Zinc deficiency, and he didn’t do anything to cure it, so he had lost his hair over time. This can make you imagine that hair loss is hereditary in your family. Many of our clients have thought that they had hereditary hair loss because of not getting any result by other doctors’ methods, and they have been told that their hair loss was genetic, but in fact, it was not, and they achieved satisfying result after our treatment.

There is a type of hair loss in men called Male Pattern Baldness (sometimes called Hereditary Pattern Baldness) that is caused by increased conversion of Testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by aging, which is treatable. But if baldness gene causes hair loss in a person, it is incurable and also cannot be diagnosed by any tests. In genetic hair loss, men usually become entirely bald by the age of 24, and the hair loss begins at the age of 18.

Q: Please tell us about Finasteride and Minoxidil.

A: Finasteride, also known as Propecia, is advised by many physicians for hair loss due to a high level of Dihydrotestosterone. Of course, there are other ways to reduce the effect of Dihydrotestosterone on hair roots, such as using solutions containing caffeine or supplements containing Saw Palmetto, Nettle and Pumpkin oil, which have no side effects. These herbs are also good for men's prostate if taken in a proper dosage.

One of the mechanisms of Minoxidil solution is to increase blood supply to hair roots, which reduces hair loss and stimulates the growth of new hair. It is approved by the FDA, and I sometimes recommend it as well. However, other compounds such as L-Arginine, Ginseng Root and Ginkgo Biloba leaf also do the same, which I advise in some cases. It should be noted that Minoxidil does not cure hair loss, and if the cause of hair loss is not diagnosed and treated, using Minoxidil will not be effective, and if so, hair loss will begin again once you stop using it.

Q: Is it true that those who use Minoxidil should always use it, and if they stop using it, hair loss will begin again severely?

A: If you’re simply using Minoxidil solution to prevent hair loss without diagnosing the reason of it, which can be mineral imbalances, Thyroid problems, Adrenal fatigue, etc., hair loss will probably start again by stopping the use of Minoxidil. However, if you are performing a complete anti-hair loss program that will balance the problems that have caused thinning hair and using Minoxidil is just a part of it to stimulate hair regrowth, you won’t be experiencing hair loss by stopping the use of Minoxidil.

Q: I have tried most of the methods such as PRP (platelet-rich plasma), mesotherapy, anti-hair loss solutions, etc. to treat my hair loss, but got no result; What is the reason?

A: Without examining the level and status of minerals, vitamins, hormones, metabolism, glands and finding the causes of hair loss, general methods like PRP and mesotherapy are usually in vain. For example, in many people, hair loss is caused by Iron or Copper overload. So, taking those minerals without consideration, either orally or via mesotherapy, can increase the level of minerals, which themselves are the reason of hair loss. Hence, before initiating any kind of method, the level of minerals in the body must be measured. Another example is if hair loss is due to hypothyroidism or Adrenal glands weakness, PRP and mesotherapy are almost ineffective, and those metabolic problems must be cured at first. As I have explained many times throughout the website, the first step in treating hair loss is to identify the causes. The correct diagnosis will certainly save your time and money, and it surely increases the chances of getting a result. So, I recommend avoiding treatment based on speculation or advice of other people.

Q: Can I start treatment with you during pregnancy and lactation?

A: During pregnancy and lactation, I can set a supplement plan based on your blood tests, which can reduce hair loss and help you to have a healthy pregnancy, but note that many supplements and solutions must be avoided during pregnancy or lactation. So, only a basic and customized program can be set during these periods.

Q: As you mentioned before, one of the main causes of hair loss in both men and women is a mineral imbalance, why is it so common?

A: Experience has shown that hair loss with metabolic roots is more common than hereditary hair loss. In many cases that hair loss is due to metabolic problems, a person may also experience other symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, impotence, depression, being underweight, obesity, headache and skin problems.

Several reasons can cause mineral imbalances in the body, including:

  • Bad eating habits
  • Low quality of foods
  • Unhealthy and stressful lifestyle
  • Alcohol and tobacco consumption
  • Environmental pollution
  • Taking wrong supplements without doctors’ review
  • Congenital factors: Many children are born with mineral imbalances due to the consumption of unadvised supplements by their mothers during pregnancy, and as they get older, consequences such as hair loss and more will appear.
